Who knew the staff at Alliance Middle School loved pie so much? 🥧 Unfortunately for them, the students prefer throwing it in their faces! 😂 Several teachers, along with Principal Tim Mosher and Assistant Principal Jason Wade, took pies to the face as part of the annual fundraiser!

The students loved cheering on their peers and booing the staff as the staff members braved the messy pies! 🥧 #RepthatA

The 1st graders at Alliance Early Learning School have been learning about their community, the people who help in their community and different careers. Hilary McIlvain's class had some special visitors! 🚒

Gryffin Podlogar's mom and dad, Matt and Samantha Podlogar, came in to talk to the class about their careers as a firefighter and nurse. Students got to pick up the turnout gear, put on a stethoscope and then use stickers to make firefighters, nurses and doctors.

What a great experience! Thank you for stopping by, Mr. and Mrs. Podlogar! #RepthatA

We hosted our annual Futures Fest last week! ✈️ The career-oriented event featured a college and career fair for high schoolers and families, with nearly 60 vendors in attendance! The event also included a career show put on by members of the Alliance Middle School National Junior Honor Society and career-themed activities for elementary-age students.

Futures Fest gives students of all ages and their families the opportunity to explore future careers and learn about the paths they need to take to achieve their goals!

We love being able to offer events like this that help prepare all Aviators for Life, College and Careers! #RepthatA

What an amazing day of technology-centered learning for all staff members at Alliance City Schools! 💻 Every year, the tech department plans Techvemberfest for the first Tuesday in November. The day began with a keynote from Tom Preston on cybersecurity, followed by three conference-style blocks where staff could attend sessions based on their interests! The sessions were taught by vendors and ACS staff members who wanted to empower their colleagues with some great new tech skills.

There were even sessions for classified staff members that focused on food safety and the best use of chemicals and equipment to make the day worthwhile for all staff.

A big thank you to Chad Morris, Misty Sampson, John Marchick, Rich Fraser and Logan McGee for making this day possible for our staff! #RepthatA

How did AHS prepare you for your career?
“I’d say AHS helped develop my foundation of determination and perseverance. Nothing in life comes easy, and you’ll have to grind it out to reach your goals.”

Favorite Memories from High School:
“My favorite memories at AHS were defeating Louisville in its final year as part of the original NBC Conference and beating Marlington in football.”

Advice for Current AHS Students:
“The biggest piece of advice I have for current students going through AHS is, ‘Everybody starts the race, but only the ones who finish will be remembered.’

Everybody’s goals, dreams and pathways won’t be the same. Don’t try to compare your success, or lack thereof, to anyone else’s. Your story is still developing, and you have more than enough time to influence how it ends. Hunker down, stay focused and grind for what you want in life. No one’s gonna go get it for you besides your reflection in the mirror. You’re capable of many things beyond your own imagination.”

Influential Staff Members:
“Mr. Shively, Mr. Schilling, Mr. Wilson, who was a student teacher at the time, and Mr. Wolfgang. These four teachers helped me during times of struggle inside and outside of school. I’ll forever be grateful for what they were able to teach and pass along to me.”

An Accomplishment You Are Most Proud Of:
“I’d say my top three personal accomplishments were competing in the 2023 NCAA D3 National Championship, obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.”

Suzanne Hartline, a retired Alliance City Schools teacher, visited Becky Robertson's class as a guest reader to read the book "Stellaluna"! 🦇 The students loved listening to the story while a stuffed fruit bat hung on the rocking chair.

After the story, the students got to pass the stuffed fruit bat around and touch it. Then, they went back to their seats to enjoy a bat cookie Mrs. Hartline made for them. 🍪 The class finished up the "Stellaluna" lesson with a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting bats and birds.

What a great time learning about "Stellaluna" and fruit bats during this spooky season! #RepthatA

Tracy Bowser's kindergarten class had a fun time investigating and carving pumpkins! 🎃 The students drew pictures of their pumpkins, measured them with string, made predictions and learned the steps to carving a jack-o'-lantern!

Each group helped draw a face, carve their pumpkin, scoop out the goo and sort the seeds. The next day, they even got to enjoy roasted pumpkin seeds!

🏆 Congratulations to Alliance High School's Mason Datz for being named the Jobs for Ohio's Graduates (JOG) Student Leader of the Year!

Mason earned this honor after being selected from several nominees across Stark County. 🏆

Mason is an outstanding representative of both the JOG program and Alliance High School, and we couldn't be prouder of him for earning this recognition! Way to go, Mason!

His fellow peers in the AHS JOG program also had a great day learning about leadership from several local business owners, state representatives and keynote speaker Krisner Green.

The 2nd graders have been learning all about habitats in science! 🐜🔍 As part of their unit, the students became little scientists as they observed an ant farm right in their classroom!

They watched the ants dig tunnels, work together and explore their habitat while learning about teamwork and the lives of ants. The students also kept journals to record the ants' daily activities and observations.

What a fun, hands-on way to learn about these fascinating little insects! #RepthatA
