Kindness can be simple: invite someone to play with you or sit with you, help a classmate, give someone a compliment, tell someone thank you for helping you, or offer an encouraging word. Small actions help people feel welcome, happy, valued and connected and can inspire others to be kind, too.
Throughout the year, students and staff will report their acts of kindness, and we will track them as a district until we reach our goal of 250!

Alliance Elementary School held a career-themed spirit day! 👩🚒👨🏫 Students dressed up as the career they plan to have when they are older. We saw tons of professional athletes, teachers, artists, police officers, firefighters and so many other fantastic career aspirations! Our Aviators have the ability to soar in life, and we can't wait to see what career paths they land on in the future! ✈️ #RepthatA

Tracy Bowser's kindergarten class had some science fun when they planted grass and bean seeds! 🌱 The students watered and measured their plants each week and even created a house to put behind the plants. They enjoyed watching the plants grow over time and comparing the two different kinds using descriptive words! Our budding botanists had so much fun with this project! 🪴 #RepthatA
The first-year woodshop students in Josh Davis' class have been hard at work creating and carving pumpkins from cedar fence pickets! 🎃 They did an amazing job! We love being able to offer electives like woodshop to our students at Alliance High School! 🪵 #RepthatA

Fat Bear Week is an annual celebration that highlights the brown bears of Katmai National Park in Alaska as they prepare for winter hibernation. Kaley Sloane’s class at Alliance Elementary School followed along, learning about brown bears, their habitat, what they eat, and why getting “fat” is so important for hibernation! Each day, students followed the Fat Bear Week bracket and voted for their favorite bear. Their votes were tallied, and the class winner became the official vote they entered for that day! They enjoyed bear-themed activities, snacks, and plenty of friendly competition as they cheered on their favorite bears! 🐻

The Superintendent's Leadership Group held their first meeting of the year! This group is made up of students in grades 4-12 who have been identified as leaders in their schools! Once the students join the group, they remain until they graduate and serve as mentors to the new students who join each year.
The meeting was a fun one! Students were split into groups and tasked with building a free-standing bridge strong enough to hold a phone for ten seconds. Each group was given the same instructions and materials to start. This activity required the students to communicate efficiently and effectively, be creative and think outside the box, and collaborate well with one another, all qualities of good leaders.
We look forward to more meetings with this fantastic group this year! #RepthatA

“I love thinking back on our Senior All-Nighter. It was so much fun and the perfect way to squeeze in some more memories with all the friends we made over the years before graduation.”
Advice for Current AHS Students:
“Two things: First, don't feel bad if you don't have everything figured out. The reality is that no one does. Enjoy the journey, learn as you go and appreciate your own unique path in life. Second, embrace the things that bring you joy and fulfillment. The best work comes from those who genuinely love what they do. Always make time for your passions, hobbies, creative outlets and whatever else brings you happiness.”

Last week, Alliance High School and University of Mount Union surprised the 2027 class of Investment Alliance Scholars! ✈️💜 15 students were formally offered the four-year, full-tuition scholarship if they choose to accept it and attend Mount Union following graduation.
Throughout their senior year, each student will have a fully customized college visit where they can meet with people from majors they are interested in pursuing, sports teams, and even organizations they may want to join.

Participating in band, basketball, yearbook staff and Teen Court taught me discipline, teamwork, creativity, leadership, responsibility and the importance of serving my community. Teen Court especially strengthened my interest in criminal justice and public service. These experiences helped build the confidence and work ethic I now use as an educator, business owner and graduate student.”

“My favorite memory from Alliance High School was winning the senior-vs-junior flag football game during my senior year. It was an exciting experience that brought our class together and showed our school spirit. I will always remember the teamwork, energy and pride we felt after winning.”
Advice for Current AHS Students:
“Take advantage of every opportunity, stay focused and never allow setbacks to stop you from reaching your goals. Build meaningful relationships with your teachers and classmates because those connections and memories can last a lifetime. Most importantly, believe in yourself and continue your education. You are capable of achieving more than you may realize. Never forget these years because they fly by!”

She read them a fun, interactive book called “I Say OH You Say NO.” The kids loved participating in the story. Mrs. Skidmore also brought them fun “boots & books” coloring pages for Dolly Parton Day and fall bookmarks to color. 🎨
