As a fun end to the unit, students were given "recipe" cards to make "math soup." 🍲 They visited stations around the room to collect their "ingredients" (buttons, blocks, etc.). Then, they had to count out the correct number of each ingredient to put in their soup, according to their recipe. When finished, they exchanged bowls with a friend to check each other's work! 😃 What a great activity! #RepthatA

Yesterday, the students at Alliance Intermediate School had cafe conversations during lunch as part of Start With Hello Week! All lunch tables were combined for the day and conversation starters were given to students so they could get to know each other better! 😊

Some of the conversation topics were "Would you rather have a pet dinosaur 🦖 or a pet dragon? 🐉" and "What is your favorite subject at school? 📚"

Assistant Superintendent Shawn Jackson was the first guest reader for Baeli Kimble's 1st grade class! 📚 He read them the story “There’s an Alligator Under My Bed.” At the end, the students had the opportunity to ask Mr. Jackson questions.

The staff at Alliance Intermediate School love having secret spirit days! 🤫 The students have no idea when they will occur or what the theme is for the staff members, but they have a blast trying to figure them out. Last week, they had a "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" spirit day where all staff members wore sweatpants to school.
