Don’t miss the Alliance Intermediate School 4th Grade Winter Concert on Dec. 8 at 6 pm at AHS! #RepthatA

Kris Bugara, City Council At-Large member for Alliance, visited Candace Worrell’s government class recently to talk about local government. Learning how local decisions are made helps students understand how their community works and how they can make a difference.
A big thank you to Councilman Bugara for stopping by! #RepthatA

After reading and comparing different versions of the folktale “Stone Soup,” students in Tracy Bowser’s kindergarten class each brought in a food item to make their own pot of soup, mirroring the story’s themes of community and sharing. 🥣 Emerson even brought in the “magic” stone for their soup! 🪨
The classroom was transformed into a market where students shopped with pennies for an item to add to the pot. 🪙 The class then enjoyed the soup together with bread and butter at a table “set for a king.” 👑 #RepthatA

✈ Lisa Buehman ✈
Position: LRC
School: Alliance Middle School
Graduation Year: 2004
Years at ACS: 4
Favorite Memory:
"I loved the musicals we did at AHS. They were always the best!"
Influential Staff Member:
"Ms. Sally Ailes was such a wonderful person and had a passion for the Spanish language and education in general. She made learning fun and challenging."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I want the students to know that people in their community can be and are successful! That being raised in a low-income family doesn't determine your value or your chance to be successful."
Importance of giving back:
"It's important to me to invest in the community that was so important to my education and upbringing. I had so many wonderful teachers and I hope to be that same person for someone else."
Ms. Buehman's story is a reminder that every student deserves someone who believes in them, and she is proud to be that person for our Aviators. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

🍪 Help Miss Sloane's Class Catch the Gingerbread Man! 🍪
Kaley Sloane’s class at Alliance Elementary School needs your help to catch the Gingerbread Man! He’s on the loose again, traveling across the United States and maybe even around the world. 🌎
If you spot him in your area, send the class a postcard or letter telling them where he was and what he was up to. Let’s help our young Aviators track him down! 📫 #RepthatA

Kim Cody’s and Melanie Dubaj’s classes at Alliance Intermediate School combined for a Fun Friday turkey craft 🦃 before fall break and the read-aloud A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman. They also watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving 🍂 and enjoyed the same snack the Peanuts Gang had in the show — toast, popcorn, pretzels, and jelly beans! 🍿 How fun! #RepthatA

Sugarplum McJingles made her long journey from the North Pole this morning! She will spend the next three weeks keeping a watchful eye on all the good little boys and girls at Alliance Elementary School and report back to Santa each night.
She brought with her a special announcement from the North Pole:
"Attention AES students and staff!
Sugarplum McJingles has arrived!! Your official holiday elf for the season. Her daily duty is to observe your positive behavior.
She will look for:
- Kindness in your hearts.
- Role-Modeling excellence for others.
- Giving your best effort in all tasks.
Each evening, she will fly back to the North Pole and deliver her report. Please remember to uphold all AES expectations and keep the holiday spirit bright.
Remember: Look, but don't touch. Her magic depends on it!"

✈ Myra (Hopkins) Zink ✈
Position: Health Aide
School: Alliance Intermediate School
Graduation Year: 1967
Years at ACS: 10
Favorite Memory:
"Marching in the Orange Bowl Parade in front of the Flipper Float playing the theme song. I played the Clarinet. Thanks to Merrick Lewis, a well known Industrialist in Alliance and the president of Alliance Machine Company. He paid for our week-long trip to Florida where we marched in the parade."
Influential Staff Member:
"John Weitzel, the Band Director of the nationally known Alliance High School Marching Band. He is a GOAT (The Greatest of All Times). I learned about hard work, dedication and 'ONE MORE TIME' was his favorite phrase! He taught us lifelong lessons to live by."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I retired from Summa Health Systems/Akron City Hospital in 2014 after 43 years of service as a Med-Sug RN. My neighbor Lori Gasparik asked me if I would be interested in a part-time job working for ACS as a Health Aide. And here I am starting my eleventh year. I love AIS staff and my students. They are like part of my family. I have learned so much and met so many wonderful people. I feel blessed for having the opportunity to give back to my community."
Importance of giving back:
"To be a good role model. If I can have a positive impact on just one of my students' lives it is worth it. How rewarding to give back to my alma mater by working as a nurse/health aide, which is the career path I chose following my graduation in 1967. I have been an RN for 54 years."
Ms. Zink’s compassion and commitment remind us how powerful it is when Aviators return to serve the next generation.🩵❤️ #RepthatA
