Kaley Sloane's class at Alliance Elementary School held a "Balloons Over AES" parade last Friday! The class made their very own balloons like the ones in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade then showed them off to all the students and staff in the building. 🎈 They had so much fun making their balloons and being able to share them with their peers! #RepthatA

Over 400 students and family members attended the PTO Hot Pots night last week! The students got to use their art skill and painted a mug or a plate with their own special design. 🎨 After painting, they enjoyed hot cocoa and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus! 🎅 A big thank you to the PTO and Hot Pots for putting on this fantastic event for our families! #RepthatA

The kindergarten classes read "Balloons Over Broadway," a true story about a man who invented the upside down marionettes that are now used in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After reading the story, the student designed and made their own balloons! The projected ended with all kindergartners parading through the halls of Alliance Early Learning School for the staff and 1st graders to see their balloons! 🎈 What a fun project! #RepthatA

At Tuesday's meeting, two students spoke to the Board of Education about their experience with the transition project, a partnership between Alliance and the University of Mount Union! As part of this project, about 26 10th graders met with UMU students and created a presentation about themselves and future careers they would be interested in. The students then present the projects at Mount Union. Sole'yah Copper and Jason Klaas gave their presentations to the board members and answered questions about their projects. Both students did a fantastic job! The goal of this project is to help students to start thinking about their futures and what path they should take to achieve their career aspirations. We are constantly being reminded just how amazing our Aviators are! ✈ #RepthatA

The young Aviators at Alliance Elementary School and Alliance Intermediate School were visited by basketball coach, Dani Gallina, and some of the high school basketball team last week. Coach Dani explained why learning fundamentals at a young age is so important for athletic success at the high school level. Every girl got to shoot a basketball and had a chance to answer questions about the sport. The winners of each group got a Lady Aviators basketball or t-shirt and a little bit of basketball knowledge! 🏀 Our young Aviators can still sign up for the YMCA girls youth basketball league by emailing Coach Dani at gallinada@alliancecityschools.org with the player's name and grade. ✈ #RepthatA
