Troop 50 & Pack 50 showed our #LikeAGirl group that leadership means working together, embracing different roles and recognizing that everyone matters! 💪 From Gaga Ball and sled races to indoor campfire songs and lots and lots of laughter, it was an evening full of fun, connection and teamwork. 🏕️

Superintendent Rob Gress has created a group for ACS staff members who are interested in becoming administrators in the future. The group, called the Alliance Aviator Aspiring Administrators Academy (5A for short), will spend the next year meeting about once a month and exploring the various facets of administration.
Participants will have the opportunity to shadow building and district administrators, participate in leadership meetings, work through real-world administrative situations and learn about different areas of district operations.

The Alliance High School Career Tech Department hosted an outstanding Cruise-In with over 60 cars in attendance! 🚗
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Shawn Smith Memorial Scholarship. This year, $5250 was raised. The award is presented to a deserving career-technical student who is continuing in their chosen career field and has demonstrated the work ethic, integrity and perseverance needed for success. It will be presented at the annual AHS Scholarship Night in the spring.

Kindness can be simple: invite someone to play with you or sit with you, help a classmate, give someone a compliment, tell someone thank you for helping you, or offer an encouraging word. Small actions help people feel welcome, happy, valued and connected and can inspire others to be kind, too.

Alliance Elementary School held a career-themed spirit day! 👩🚒👨🏫 Students dressed up as the career they plan to have when they are older. We saw tons of professional athletes, teachers, artists, police officers, firefighters and so many other fantastic career aspirations! Our Aviators have the ability to soar in life, and we can't wait to see what career paths they land on in the future! ✈️ #RepthatA

Tracy Bowser's kindergarten class had some science fun when they planted grass and bean seeds! 🌱 The students watered and measured their plants each week and even created a house to put behind the plants. They enjoyed watching the plants grow over time and comparing the two different kinds using descriptive words! Our budding botanists had so much fun with this project! 🪴 #RepthatA
The first-year woodshop students in Josh Davis' class have been hard at work creating and carving pumpkins from cedar fence pickets! 🎃 They did an amazing job! We love being able to offer electives like woodshop to our students at Alliance High School! 🪵 #RepthatA

Fat Bear Week is an annual celebration that highlights the brown bears of Katmai National Park in Alaska as they prepare for winter hibernation. Kaley Sloane’s class at Alliance Elementary School followed along, learning about brown bears, their habitat, what they eat, and why getting “fat” is so important for hibernation! Each day, students followed the Fat Bear Week bracket and voted for their favorite bear. Their votes were tallied, and the class winner became the official vote they entered for that day! They enjoyed bear-themed activities, snacks, and plenty of friendly competition as they cheered on their favorite bears! 🐻

The Superintendent's Leadership Group held their first meeting of the year! This group is made up of students in grades 4-12 who have been identified as leaders in their schools! Once the students join the group, they remain until they graduate and serve as mentors to the new students who join each year.
The meeting was a fun one! Students were split into groups and tasked with building a free-standing bridge strong enough to hold a phone for ten seconds. Each group was given the same instructions and materials to start. This activity required the students to communicate efficiently and effectively, be creative and think outside the box, and collaborate well with one another, all qualities of good leaders.
We look forward to more meetings with this fantastic group this year! #RepthatA

“Two things: First, don't feel bad if you don't have everything figured out. The reality is that no one does. Enjoy the journey, learn as you go and appreciate your own unique path in life. Second, embrace the things that bring you joy and fulfillment. The best work comes from those who genuinely love what they do. Always make time for your passions, hobbies, creative outlets and whatever else brings you happiness.”
