Alliance High School cosmetology teacher and alum, Robert Fountain '08, visited the kindergarten classes at Alliance Early Learning School to tell them about his careers as a teacher and salon owner!
The students loved hearing about his jobs, asking him questions about what it's like to be a teacher and salon owner and learning about the tools he uses to cut hair. He even reminded them about the importance of never cutting their own hair! ✂
Mr. Fountain graduated from the same cosmetology program at AHS that he now teaches! We are lucky and grateful for the full circle that brought him back to his roots at AHS! ✈ #RepthatA

Lieutenant Dave Bair from the Alliance Police Department visited the kindergarten classes for Career Week! 👮♂️ He spoke to the kids about his job as a police officer, how he helps to keep the kiddos and community safe and how he oversees the School Resource Officers that protect the schools. The kids got to ask him questions like "What's your favorite thing about your job?"
The students even got to go outside to see his police cruiser! 🚓
Thank you for stopping by Alliance Early Learning School Lieutenant Bair! The students loved learning about your job! #RepthatA

Connilyn Cross' and Carrie LeBeau's kindergarten class recently learned about Chinese New Year! This was a great opportunity to discuss common East Asian practices to get ready for the new year and to compare and contrast these practices to the ones frequently used in western new year traditions. Students made dragon masks, scrolls depicting the year of the snake, and enjoyed long noodles to encourage a long and healthy life! Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, was a chance to celebrate the new year in a new way for most kindergartners! 🏮🐲 #RepthatA

Aviator Families,
As many of you may be aware, there was a large-scale water outage throughout much of Alliance yesterday. While the break has been fixed, there is now a boil advisory in effect for many areas of the community, including Alliance High School, Alliance Middle School, Alliance Elementary School and Alliance Preschool. Due to the extent of the boil alert, all buildings in the district will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23.
While the boil advisory implemented by the city is precautionary in nature, Alliance City Schools must take it seriously. This particular advisory calls for boiling water that will be used for food preparation, consumption and washing hands. With this precautionary measure in place, food preparation would be challenging in the district and students would be unable to use sinks and water fountains in the impacted buildings. As we always want to prioritize the safety and security of our staff and students, we believe it is in the best interest of the students and staff to close all schools for Thursday and will plan to return on Friday, Jan. 24 pending acceptable water test results from the city.
We will keep all Aviator families updated on this matter.
